What is QuikTape?: Quiktape is extruded of high performance silicone rubber. It is self adhering and fusing, curing into a solid rubber insulator at room temperature in 24 hours or less. This results in an inseparable barrier that resists moisture, ozone and corona at temperatures up to 260șC. It's high thermal conductivity allows for rapid heat dissipation resulting in a lower temperature rise on all types of connection.
Where can I use QuikTape?: QuikTape is suitable for use wherever a tough, high temperature, permanently resilient insulation or seal is required. When properly installed, QuikTape self-fusing tape provides a moisture-free seal around terminations, connections and wire harness bundles, offering low cost solutions to high reliability problem areas. The unique triangular cross sectional configuration of the self-fusing tape allows for complete, smooth and transitional coverage over irregularly shaped surfaces.
The main features of QuikTape are:
- Self-Bonding: which means no adhesive on tape and no messy residue.
- Thermal Resistance: Up to 204șC continuous; up to 260șC intermittent.
- Waterproof: Less than 3% water absorption.
- Arc-Track Resistant.
- Weather and Ozone Resistant: -51șC to 204șC
- UV Resistant
- Good Tensile Strength: 700 psi.
- Air and Water Tight: Cures into a homogeneous mass.
